Lemira was born in Springfield, Windsor County, Vermont, on 9 June 1799.1,2,3,4,5,6 She was the daughter of Joseph Hodgman Junior and Sarah Lawrence. Lemira was probably under age 10 in Joseph Hodgman Junior's household in the 1800 Census taken in Springfield.7 Lemira was probably age 10 and under 16 in Joseph Hodgman Junior's household in the 1810 Census taken in Springfield.8 She married Stephen Hartwell Dutton in Springfield on 12 September 1816.9,10,11,12,13 Lemira was probably age 16 and under 26 in Stephen Hartwell Dutton's household in the 1820 Census taken in Manchester, Bennington County, Vermont.14 Lemira was probably age 30 and under 40 in Stephen Hartwell Dutton's household in the 1830 Census taken in Rockingham, Windham County, Vermont.15 Lemira was probably age 40 to under 50 in Stephen Hartwell Dutton's household in the 1840 Census taken in Rockingham.16 She was a resident in the household of Stephen Hartwell Dutton in the 21 August 1850 census taken in Rockingham as "Lemira Dutton" age 50.12 She was a resident in the household of Stephen Hartwell Dutton in the 13 June 1860 census taken in Springfield a housewife age 61.17 She was a resident in the household of Stephen Hartwell Dutton in the 1870 census taken in Springfield as "Lemera Dutton" keeping house at age 71.10 Lemira died on 10 June 1878 in Chester, Windsor County, Vermont, at age 79.18,19 She was buried in the Summer Hill Cemetery in Springfield.
