He served in the Chelmsford garrison house during King Philip's War, and lived in Chelmsford during the last 20 years of his life. Zechariah was born in Braintree, Norfolk County, Massachusetts, on 17 June 1656. He was the son of Daniel Shedd and Mary (--?--). He married Ann (--?--) (widow Bray?) in Billerica, Middlesex County, Massachusetts, on 16 January 1678/79. He married Lydia Farley on 9 March 1693/94. He married Hannah Harris in Billerica, Mass., on 13 July 1702. Zechariah died in June 1735 in Chelmsford, Middlesex County, Massachusetts.
