Charles was born in Chester, Windsor County, Vermont, on 15 July 1855.1,2 He was the son of Joshua Lockwood and Calita Stone. He married Fannie Jane Dutton on 19 September 1910.3 Charles died on 4 November 1940 in Springfield, Windsor County, Vermont, at age 85.4,5
