Ellen was born on 8 August 1849.1 She was the daughter of Joseph Alanson Dean and Arvilla Maria Dutton. She was a resident in the household of Joseph Alanson Dean in the 17 September 1850 census taken in Grafton, Windham County, Vermont, age 18 (in error). She was a resident in the household of Joseph Alanson Dean in the 4 June 1860 census taken in Genoa, Livingston County, Michigan, age 10.2 She married William Gott circa 1870.3 She was a resident in the household of Joseph Alanson Dean in the 25 July 1870 census taken in Genoa, Mich., age 20. Ellen died in April 1929 at age 79.4
