Mienie was born in Meinsche, Germany, on 20 November 1905. She was the daughter of August Wege and Marie Kichoff. Mienie was confirmed in Lohe, Germany, circa 1917. She was confirmed in a church built in 1150 AD. After coming to this country and marrying, she was naturalized as "Meta W. Niedfeldt". She married Louis Henry Niedfeldt in Bangor, La Crosse County, Wisconsin, on 19 May 1926. Mienie died on 27 August 1999 in New Richmond, Saint Croix County, Wisconsin, at age 93.1
