7-greats-grandfather of Darrell Allen Martin.
Daniel was born in Waterford, New London County, Connecticut, on 3 May 1666.1,2 He was the son of Richard Dart and Bethia (--?--). Daniel Darte was christened on 2 April 1671 in the First Church in New London, New London County, Connecticut.3 He married Elizabeth Douglass in New London, Conn., on 4 August 1686.4,5 Daniel moved to Bolton, Tolland County, Connecticut October 1722. The house which he built there was still standing in 1927.6

Two additional children are sometimes claimed for Daniel. One, Sarah, is shoehorned in between Ebenezer and Abiah; the other, a second Elizabeth, is tacked on as an afterthought. I know of no reason to consider their existence credible.3 Daniel died on 2 January 1738 in New London, Conn., at age 71.7,8 He was buried in Bolton, Tolland County, Connecticut.9
