Marion was born in Vermont on 27 August 1847.1,2 She was the daughter of Nathaniel Nelson Dartt and Ruth Knowlton Perkins. She was a resident in the household of Nathaniel Nelson Dartt, age 3, in the 21 August 1850 census taken in Weathersfield, Windsor County, Vermont.3 She was a resident in the household of Nathaniel Nelson Dartt in the 31 August 1860 census taken in Weathersfield a student age 13.4 She married Damon Olcott on 8 August 1887. Marion died on 17 March 1924 at age 76.
