Ann was born in Vermont on 14 January 1840.1,2 She was the daughter of Nathaniel Nelson Dartt and Ruth Knowlton Perkins. Ann was probably age under 5 in Nathaniel Nelson Dartt's household in the 1840 Census taken in Weathersfield, Windsor County, Vermont. She was a resident in the household of Nathaniel Nelson Dartt in the 21 August 1850 census taken in Weathersfield a student age 10.3 She was a resident in the household of Charles Jarvis in the 6 August 1860 census taken in Weathersfield one of three female domestics, age 21; the property owned by members of the household totalled $66,738, the equivalent of $1,362,000 in the year 2000.4 She was a resident in the household of Sybil Dartt in the 1870 census taken in Springfield, Windsor County, Vermont, a tailoress age 30.5,6 She married Henry A. Stearns in Windham, Windham County, Vermont, on 8 May 1876.7 Ann died on 27 July 1914 at age 74.
