Samuel was born in Massachusetts on 6 September 1789.1,2,3,4 He was the son of Nathaniel Williams and Hannah Lawrence. He married Polly Tarbell in Mount Holly, Rutland County, Vermont, on 7 November 1813.5,6,7 He was a head of household in the 1850 census taken in Mt. Holly a farmer age 61; his real estate was valued at $800, the equivalent of $17,400 in the year 2000; Polly Tarbell resided in the same household, as "Polly Williams" age 54.5 He was a resident in the household of Zopher White in the 11 July 1860 census taken in Mt. Holly a farmer age 78 [sic], whose real estate was valued at $1,100, the equivalent of $22,400 in the year 2000.8 Samuel died on 17 April 1864 in Mt. Holly at age 74.9 He was buried in the Tarbellville Cemetery in Mt. Holly.10
