Eli was born in Fairfield, Fairfield County, Connecticut, on 26 August 1781.1 He was the son of Josiah Beardsley and Abigail Bulkeley. He married Patty Lewis in 1805.2 He lived at Trumbull and Southbury, Connecticut, before removing to Bridgewater.1 Eli died on 14 June 1850 in Bridgewater, Litchfield County, Connecticut, at age 68.1 He was buried in the Roxbury Center Cemetery in Roxbury, Litchfield County, Connecticut.1
