Pierre was born in Quebec, Canada, circa 1823. An alternate form of his name was Peter Rusaw. He married Marguerite Taillon in Saint Columban's Church in Cornwall, Ontario, Canada, on 3 September 1844. Pierre died on 16 April 1903 in Winthrop, Saint Lawrence County, New York.
