Olin was born in Clarendon, Rutland County, Vermont, on 29 March 1889.4,5 He was the son of Herman Valette Hewitt and Flora Idella Baker.3 "VT Sgt. Flying Sch. Det. Air Svc. WWI."6 He married Helen Pokorny say 1920.3 Olin died on 24 November 1963 in Forestville, Hartford County, Connecticut, at age 74.7,8 He was buried in the East Clarendon Cemetery in East Clarendon, Clarendon, Rutland County, Vermont.6
