Sherrill was born in the Alice Peck Day Hospital in Lebanon, Grafton County, New Hampshire, on 8 August 1940.2 He is the son of Merton Leslie Nott and Erminie Rose Hewitt.1 He married Judith Ann Capron say 1963.1
