Leonard was born in 1926. He was the son of Francis J. Rabtoy and Nina A. Balch. He served in the United States Army in World War II, with the 62nd Armored Infantry Battalion of the 14th Armored Division. It may be that he died while in military service. Leonard died in 1948. He was buried in the East Clarendon Cemetery in East Clarendon, Clarendon, Rutland County, Vermont.
