Michael was born in New Hampshire circa 1787.1 He married Betsey (--?--) say 1810.2 He was a head of household in the 30 July 1850 census taken in Newbury, Orange County, Vermont, a farmer age 63; Betsey (--?--) resided in the same household, as "Betsey Cross" age 62; as did Timothy Cross, a laborer age 19; Abram Cross, age 18; Elizabeth M. A. Cross, as "Elizabeth Wheaton" age 26; Carlos Wheaton, age 2; and Rebecca Wheaton, age 1/12.2
