Roy was born in Mount Holly, Rutland County, Vermont, on 7 May 1941. He is the son of Roy George Blanchard and Flora Lorraine Martin. He married Kaye Frances Glover in Saint Petersburg, Pinellas County, Florida, in June 1963. Roy was divorced from Kaye Frances Glover in St. Petersburg, Fla., in April 1966. He married Delorias Jean Raulerson in Plant City, Hillsborough County, Florida, on 29 July 1967. There are no children born of his marriage to Dee.
