Randilla was born in Springfield, Windsor County, Vermont, on 6 December 1813. She was the daughter of Williard Lawrence Hodgman and Nancy Johnson. She married Joseph H. Evans say 1845. This was after the death of her sister Sarah Ann, his first wife.
