8-greats-grandfather of Darrell Allen Martin.
The time of his removal to Enfield is not certain. His grandfather Thomas Perkins gave him a piece of land in Topsfield in his will; this will was dated 1685. A deed dated 21 October 1692 has this land being transferred to John Robinson of Topsfield; in it he is referred to as "Thomas Perkins of Enfield, Hampshire Co., Mass." He was probably a farmer. Thomas was born in Topsfield, Essex County, Massachusetts, on 4 May 1667. He was the son of John Perkins and Deborah Browning. He married Sarah Richards in Enfield, Hartford County, Connecticut, on 5 December 1694. Thomas died on 3 June 1709 in Enfield, Mass./Conn., at age 42.
