Moise was born in French Canada say 1850.1 He was the son of Joseph LaPlante dit Sauve and Sophie St. Onge. Moise Joachim LaPlante dit Sauve was named Joshua Sauve. An alternate form of his name was Moses. Moise was nicknamed Ol' Mose. He married Marie Rousseau in Williamstown, Ontario, Canada, on 3 August 1869.2 He married ? (--?--) say 1870.3 He had a grandson Carl Moses Martin; Carl's brother Clifton Oliver Martin had his middle name after their other grandfather.
