Silas was born on Parker Hill, Springfield, Windsor County, Vermont, in 1829.1 He was the son of George Cutler and Sophia Allbee. He married Maria Woodward in 1858. He was a resident in the household of Derrick Dutton Severance in the 11 June 1910 census taken on Parker Hill.
