Elizabeth was born in Mount Holly, Rutland County, Vermont, on 10 June 1916.1,2 She is the daughter of William Henry Martin and Sarah Marie LaPlante. Elizabeth Shirley Julia Martin was often called Shirley. She was a resident in the household of William Henry Martin in the 17 January 1920 census taken in Mt. Holly age 3y 6m, his daughter.3 She married Earl William Round in Rutland, Rutland County, Vermont, on 26 July 1935.4
