He resided in Hatfield until 1731, when he removed to Hebron, CT. Jonathan was born in Hatfield, Hampshire County, Massachusetts, on 18 September 1700. He was the son of Deacon John White III and Hannah Welles. He married Esther (--?--) say 1721. He married Anna (--?--) circa 1730. He married Anna (--?--) on 6 October 1747. Jonathan died on 28 March 1776 in Hebron, Tolland County, Connecticut, at age 75.
