Arvilla was born in Manchester, Bennington County, Vermont, on 25 May 1827.1,2,3 She was the daughter of Stephen Hartwell Dutton and Lemira Hodgman. An alternate form of her name was Arvilla Myra Dutton. An alternate form of her name was Arvilla Mosher Dutton.4 Arvilla was probably under age 5 in Stephen Hartwell Dutton's household in the 1830 Census taken in Rockingham, Windham County, Vermont.5 Arvilla was probably age 10 to under 15 in Stephen Hartwell Dutton's household in the 1840 Census taken in Rockingham.6 She married Joseph Alanson Dean in Cavendish, Windsor County, Vermont, on 3 July 1847.7,8,9 She was a resident in the household of Joseph Alanson Dean in the 17 September 1850 census taken in Grafton, Windham County, Vermont, as "Arvilla M. Dean" age 23. Arvilla relocated to Genoa, Livingston County, Michigan circa 1855.10 She was a resident in the household of Joseph Alanson Dean in the 4 June 1860 census taken in Genoa, Livingston County, Michigan, as "Arvilla Dean", age 33.11 She was a resident in the household of Joseph Alanson Dean in the 25 July 1870 census taken in Genoa, Mich., as "Arvilla M. Dean" age 45, keeping house. She was a resident in the household of Joseph Alanson Dean in the 1880 census taken in Genoa, Mich., as "Arvilla Dean" age 53, keeping house.11 Arvilla died in Fowlerville, Livingston County, Michigan.12
