Ernest was born in Springfield, Windsor County, Vermont, on 14 November 1927.1,2 He is the son of Ernest Perrin Dutton and Zella Marie (or May) Snide.3 He married Elfrieda Schreiber in Germany, in 1948. Ernest was divorced from Elfrieda Schreiber on 9 March 1964. He married Betty Jean Bush (Bivens) (Stoll) in Hillsboro, Mississippi or Missouri, on 17 April 1964.
