Everett was born in Springfield, Windsor County, Vermont, on 22 August 1899.1 He was the son of George Morse and Edith Sybil Dutton. He married Alice Frances Eaton on 9 March 1921.2 Everett and Alice adopted at least one, perhaps three, children. A boy, born 7 November 1929, was named Earl Eaton Morse. The relationship of two other persons to Everett and Alice is not clear; I have assumed adoption, but my mother is of the opinion that both children were offspring of Everett and Alice. A girl, born or adopted 6 May 1941, was named Cynthia Phyllis Morse; and a boy, born or adopted 16 August 1942, was named Cleon Everett Morse. 3
