The relationship between his spouse, L.V.L. Van Amburg, and his sister Ethel's spouse, Russell Van Amburg, is not known. Howard was born on 30 September 1893.1 He was the son of Jasper J. Dean and Ella Wilcox. He married L. V. L. Van Amburg in 1913.2
