Cited documentation:

  1. [S41] Gibson, John P., 1860 Census Shrewsbury, VT, "John P. Gibson" age 40 b. "Vt."
  2. [S44] Gibson, John, 1850 Census Shrewsbury, VT, "John Gibson" age 31 b. "Vt."
  3. [S44] Gibson, John, 1850 Census Shrewsbury, VT, My reconstruction of his relationship to the three women in his household in the 1850 census should be regarded as tentative at best. I conclude that John was the son of Catherine (age 62). From among several unsatisfactory alternatives, I surmise that the two women named Lucinda (aged 51 and 15) were mother and daughter, and that the "ditto" marks for the surname Gibson, in their cases, may possibly be the result of careless enumeration. It is tempting to identify the younger Lucinda with Catharine's daughter and John's sister of that name, but that Lucinda was born in 1823. The younger Lucinda in this census was age 15, about 12 years too young; confirming her age, she attended school during the year.
  4. [S41] Gibson, John P., 1860 Census Shrewsbury, VT.

and 14 days. The deceased was a firm believer in
