Great-granduncle of Darrell Allen Martin.

Alfred was born in Brandon, Rutland County, Vermont, on 9 February 1870.1 He was the son of Oliver Martin and Julia May Hulbert. He was a resident in the household of Oliver Martin in the 22 July 1870 census taken in Shoreham, Addison County, Vermont, as "Fred E" age 4/12.2 Alfred was nicknamed Fred or Freddy. He was a resident in the household of Oliver Martin in the 9 June 1880 census taken in Brandon, as "Freddie" age 10 at school, his son.3 Alfred died in a Veterans Soldiers Home. He was buried in a Veterans Administration Cemetery in Bath, Steuben County, New York.
