Eliza was born in Newbury, Orange County, Vermont, circa 1848.1 She was the daughter of William N. Gardner and Eliza Nelson. She was a resident in the household of William N. Gardner, age 2, in the 6 August 1850 census taken in Newbury.2 Eliza died prior to 1856 in Newbury.3
