Lydia was born in Newbury, Orange County, Vermont, on 26 September 1842.1,2 She was the daughter of William N. Gardner and Eliza Nelson. She was a resident in the household of William N. Gardner in the 6 August 1850 census taken in Newbury, a student age 7.3 She was a resident in the household of William N. Gardner in the 4 August 1860 census taken in Newbury, a house worker age 17.4 She married Mark Page Junior in Newbury, on 6 August 1865.
