Pamela was born in St. Vincent's Hospital in Erie, Erie County, Pennsylvania, on 14 May 1958.1 A Northfield, Vt. newspaper published the notice of her birth.2 She is the daughter of Edward Felix McCarthy Junior and Phyllis Allene Lanpher. Pamela Jean McCarthy was christened on 8 June 1958 at St. Luke's in Erie, Penn., with Jean and Jerry Fitzgerald acting as Godparents.3 She was taken to Northfield to visit on 16 August 1958.4 She graduated in 1976 from Saint Benedict's Academy in Erie, Penn..5 She began military service in 1976 in the United States Air Force.6 She married (--?--) Jernigan in San Antonio, Bexar County, Texas, in 1981.7 During her Air Force career she spent four years at Ramstein Air Base in Germany.4 Pamela was divorced from (--?--) Jernigan in San Antonio, Tex., in 1989. They had no children.8 Pamela Jean McCarthy ended military service in 1996 by retiring.9
