Leon was born in Shrewsbury, Rutland County, Vermont, on 5 May 1882.2 He was the son of Herman Valette Hewitt and Flora Idella Baker.1 He married Ola Bertine Clark circa 1905.1 Leon died on 12 June 1928 in Springfield, Windsor County, Vermont, at age 46.3
