Simeon Allen Holt

Simeon was born in Hartland, Windsor County, Vermont, on 18 September 1879.1,2 He was the son of Henry C. Holt and Marion M. (--?--). An alternate form of his name was Allen S. Holt. He was a resident in the household of Henry C. Holt in the 1 June 1880 census taken in Hartland. He married Eliza Rebekah Felch in Newbury, Orange County, Vermont, on 25 May 1898.3,4 Simeon Allen Holt appears in a photograph taken circa 1906 in Newbury. He was a head of household in the 28 April 1910 census taken in West Fairlee, Orange County, Vermont; Eliza Rebekah Felch resided in the same household; as did Henry Allen Holt; Marion Lizzie Holt; Herman Cyrus Holt; and Myrtle Myrle Holt. He was a head of household in the 24 January 1920 census taken in North Haverhill, Haverhill, Grafton County, New Hampshire; Eliza Rebekah Felch resided in the same household; as did Henry Allen Holt; Marion Lizzie Holt; Herman Cyrus Holt; Myrtle Myrle Holt; and Edmund Biabec. He "was a minister & would preach a service at the North Springfield Advent Church any time they came down to visit" [to Springfield].5 Simeon died in February 1960 in Newbury, at age 80.6 He was buried in April 1960 . "His body was kept in a vault from February until April because the ground was too frozen for burial".7

I cannot reconcile this information with the primary records I have seen, and there is reason to believe that there were more than one Henry C. Holt in southern Vermont about this time. A complete explanation currently eludes me.
