Alfred was born in Mount Holly, Rutland County, Vermont, on 1 December 1911.1,2,3 He was the son of William Henry Martin and Sarah Marie LaPlante. He was a resident in the household of William Henry Martin in the 17 January 1920 census taken in Mt. Holly, as "Alfred C." a student age 8, his son.4 He married Ruby D. Balch in Mt. Holly, on 14 May 1932.5 Alfred was divorced from Ruby D. Balch. Alfred died on 22 August 1964 in Mt. Holly, at age 52. In the family home.6 He was buried in the Maple Grove Cemetery in East Wallingford, Wallingford, Rutland County, Vermont.
