Yavanna June Martin was awarded the rank 2nd Kup "Red Belt" in Hapkido Karate 24 April 1999 in Lombard, DuPage County, Illinois.5 She graduated in August 2001 from Addison Trail High School in Addison, DuPage County, Illinois. She married James Edward Weldon in the Great Hall of the Lodge at Starved Rock State Park in Utica, LaSalle County, Illinois, on 20 December 2002. Retired judge James J. Wimbiscus officiated in the civil ceremony.6 Yavanna was divorced from James Edward Weldon in Cook County, Illinois, on 8 March 2004.
