Marie was born in Ontario, Canada, on 30 June 1845.2 She was the daughter of Pierre Rousseau and Marguerite Taillon. She married Moise Joachim LaPlante dit Sauve in Williamstown, Ontario, Canada, on 3 August 1869.1
