John Lamson

John was born in Ipswich, Essex County, Massachusetts, in November 1642. He was the son of William Lamson and Sarah Ayers. He married Martha Perkins in Ipswich, Mass., on 17 December 1668. On 3 January 1692/3 he was on the "Jury for Tryalls" convened at the point in the Massachusetts witchcraft hysteria when calmer heads were beginning to prevail. Ipswich, as a whole, apparently suffered little compared with other important towns in Essex County. John died in 1717 in Topsfield, Essex County, Massachusetts.
