John Knowlton

9th great-grandfather of Darrell Allen Martin.

He resided in Ipswich, MA. He became a citizen there in 1639, a freeman 9 June 1641. Apparently, at the time of his death he had accumulated a considerable property. John was born in England, in 1610. He was the son of Captain William Knowlton and Ann Elizabeth Smith. He married Marjery Wilson say 1632. John died on 8 October 1654 in Ipswich, Essex County, Massachusetts.
