Perrin was born in Rockingham, Windham County, Vermont, on 18 May 1834.1,2,3,4,5,6,7,8
He was the son of Stephen Hartwell Dutton and Lemira Hodgman.
Perrin was probably age 5 and under 10 in Stephen Hartwell Dutton's household in the 1840 Census taken in Rockingham.9
He was a resident in the household of Stephen Hartwell Dutton in the 21 August 1850 census taken in Rockingham, a student and laborer age 16.10
He married Sybil Dartt on 16 September 1866.11,12,13,14
He was a head of household in the 1870 census taken in Springfield, Windsor County, Vermont, age 36, a farm laborer; Sybil Dartt resided in the same household, as "Sybel" age 28; as did Edith Sybil Dutton, age 1.11
The Hartwell genealogy of the 1880's calls him a farmer in Springfield.15
He was a head of household in the 11 June 1900 census taken in Springfield, age 66, a farmer on a farm he owned free next door to his nephew Derrick Severance; Sybil Dartt resided in the same household, as "Sybil D. Dutton" age 58, mother of 3 children (2 living), his wife; as did Herbert William Dutton, a farm laborer age 18, his son; and John. H. Pollard, age 10, at school, a boarder.16
Perrin died on 28 May 1910 in Springfield, at age 76.17
He was buried in the Summer Hill Cemetery in Springfield.
